What would happen if we taught all students to study what's right with themselves as the foundation for their education?

My name is Erika Temple, and I'm the founder of A Perfect Alignment. A Perfect Alignment began in 2014 when I found myself in a career where my strengths were not aligned to the job expectations and I was struggling to keep up. At the same time, I struggled financially to pay my student loans. At that moment, I realized there was more to it than going to college, choosing a major and finding a good job and doing a good job. I wanted to be great. But how could I maximize my potential to become great at something? I turned to the late Don Clifton and found that there isn’t a one size fits all set of learning techniques and courses of study. Personal excellence is built on capitalizing and leveraging your innate talents. My passion of finding my own personal excellence became the blueprint for our Strengths workshops where we teach young adults who they are and how to apply that knowledge to achieve personal greatness. 

 

When students apply who they are to what they do, they not only have an opportunity to achieve personal greatness they also:

• Develop a healthy self concept

• Exhibit self acceptance

• Re-frame previous views of others

• Connect with others

• Articulate their value

As a seasoned educator with more than 15 years of experience, my goal is to find out! In 2019, we partnered with the Gallup Organization, to leverage over 30 years of research based tools on strengths, individual performance and personal development to help us change the world- one student at a time.
